Our Background

A Journey of Service, Hope, and Resilience

Solutions For Humanity (SFH) Somalia was founded in 2011 to respond to the urgent humanitarian and development needs of Somalia’s most vulnerable communities. From grassroots beginnings, SFH has grown into a recognized national organization delivering lifesaving assistance and long-term solutions for peace, dignity, and resilience.

Our Story

SFH emerged during one of Somalia’s most challenging humanitarian periods, when conflict, displacement, and recurring drought left millions in need. We were established to stand with returnees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities who faced immense social and economic challenges. With our headquarters in Mogadishu and sub-offices in Kismayo, Baidoa, and Afmadow, we are strategically positioned to respond across Jubaland, South West State, and the Banadir region.

Our Growth

What began as a modest initiative has grown into a structured, professional organization with a broad range of programs. Through partnerships with UN agencies, INGOs, government institutions, and community groups, SFH has expanded its work to include health, WASH, protection, livelihoods, and emergency response. Our growth reflects both our commitment to humanitarian principles and the trust we have earned from the communities we serve.

Our Impact

SFH’s work has touched thousands of lives across Somalia. We have provided clean water to drought-affected villages, delivered essential healthcare to mothers and children, created livelihood opportunities through skills training, and established protection mechanisms for vulnerable groups. Our impact is not just measured in numbers, but in the hope and dignity restored to communities long left behind.

Our Values

Guided by humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and accountability, SFH ensures that assistance reaches those who need it most — regardless of clan, gender, or political affiliation. We are deeply committed to empowering local communities and strengthening resilience, so that future generations can thrive in a more peaceful Somalia.

Looking Ahead

As Somalia continues to recover from decades of crisis, SFH remains focused on scaling up our impact through innovative approaches, stronger partnerships, and community-driven solutions. Our vision is clear: a Somalia where every individual has access to basic needs, equal opportunities, and the chance to live with dignity and hope.
